(KFI - Los Angeles)  --  Authorities in Southern California believe suspected cop-killer Christropher Dorner is dead.

They've found charred human remains in a burned-out cabin in the mountains east of Los Angeles.

That's where officers traded gunfire with someone they believe was the former L.A. police officer suspected of killing three people, including a Riverside policeman, last week.

A sheriff's deputy was killed and another deputy was wounded in the shootout late yesterday.

Officers heard a gunshot inside the cabin just before it burst into flames.
