Zimmerman could get life in prison if found guilty
(Sanford, FL) -- The father of Trayvon Martin is calling for calm as the man who killed his son goes on trial in Sanford, Florida for second-degree murder.
Tracy Martin asked for continued prayers for his family as the case is certain to bring up painful memories of the night last year when George Zimmerman shot the unarmed teen. Jury selection is just getting underway in the case. It will take days, if not weeks, to find a panel of six and four alternates. Zimmerman could get life in prison if found guilty.
